The Key to success of the Chevy LCF is a choice of both gasoline and diesel engines.
Gasoline power models use the proven 6.0L Chevrolet V8 engine, with a Chevrolet 6-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is similar to Chevrolet pickups and chassis-cabs. This is an ideal powertrain for users who don't haul heavy loads or drive a lot of miles. Economical to purchase and easy to maintain. Tilt the cab forward and the entire Chevy engine/transmission is right there!
Diesel power models use the reliable Isuzu 5.2L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, and Aisin automatic transmission. Isuzu has made these engines for decades. They have a great reputation, being used in difficult environments all over the world. Aisin makes one of the best truck transmissions in the business.
The cab over design of the Chevy LCF offers great benefits for your business. This design is up to 8 feet shorter than a conventional cab of the same body length. Whatever amount of space you have in your storage yard, garage, or customer delivery area, we can give you a truck body up to 8 ft longer in the same overall length.
A common configuration in Ford or Ram 5500 series trucks is a 16ft body on a 120" cab to axle. It's the longest frame those manufacturers offer in the 19,500 gvwr class. Chevy LCF offers six different frame lengths. In fact the longest Chevy LCF 5500XD at 189.5" cab to axle can take a 24ft body, and give you an overall vehicle length comparable to Ford and Ram with only a 16ft body!
